sgmn Posted August 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2019 Hi - have just booked our first Celebrity cruise for next June. Its a Norwegian fjords cruise from Southampton. We normally eat late fixed time dinning on Royal Caribbean but have booked 'open', select on Celebrity. Thinking of booking dinner each night for 1845, would that give us enough time to make the late show? We do enjoy the shows on RC and its a part of our normal evening routine to see them. Also are the Elite drinks available in the MDR? Thanks for your help, enjoying finding out about a new line for us Sue
mrsgoggins Posted August 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2019 The show times on our recent Silhouette cruise were 7.00 pm and 9 pm. We also chose Select dining and booked for 5.30 pm. On the first night we told our waiter that we hoped to catch the 7.00 pm performance and, without feeling rushed at all, we were leaving the dining room by around 6.45 pm most evenings. We had the same wait staff each night, which I believe to be quite common, even for Select, unless you request otherwise. However, I do not know if this would be so easy to accomplish for a later (and more popular) dining time. As an aside, even with our early dining time, on this ship they would only allow next day bookings. On other Celebrity ships it has been possible to book for the whole cruise in advance. We were also dining on a table for 2 - dining with others would likely make your experience much longer.

mrsgoggins Posted August 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2019 Just noticed the other part of your question. No, Elite drinks are not available in the MDR, although it is quite common to see people enter the MDR carrying a drink from elsewhere.
