wlbox Posted September 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2019 Our cruise on the Caribbean Princess will begin in Quebec City and will overnight. The Quebec City port calendar says Saturday dock 22, but Sunday dock 103. Do they move the ship to a different dock during the night? Dock 22 looks to be great location near lower old town. Where is dock 103? Wonder how far this dock is to old town and if a shuttle is provided? Thanks
WorkerBee74 Posted September 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) Is this Sept 14? We're on the Adventure Monday Sept 16, overnighting and leaving Sept 17 but the ship arrives on the 15th. It looks like us booting you out as we are at Dock 22 - and in true Canadian fashion I say SORRY 😞 https://www.portquebec.ca/en/cruises/vessel-schedules/seasonal-schedule This is where 103 is, you can't really tell in relation but... https://www.portquebec.ca/en/cruises/information-for-cruise-ship-passengers/access-to-docks Below is a better map... and in 'real' life it is closer to the Quebec Yacht Club (I hope this works but check a Google Map if it doesn't - it's directly south of a church called "Église Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde" if you can't use the link) https://www.google.com/maps/place/Église+Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde/@46.7987175,-71.2193224,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x4cb895d4b1c50e19:0xd4597886ba65880a!8m2!3d46.7987175!4d-71.2171337 This is not really that far from the Old Quebec at all, actually. It's just on the other side of the Citadelle, and it's actually closer to the Grande Allée (literally Big Street - https://www.quebec-cite.com/en/quebec-city-and-area/grande-allee) which is actually almost better than Old Quebec for restaurants and nightlife, and closer to the National Assembly of Quebec which is absolutely beautiful (http://www.assnat.qc.ca/en/visiteurs/index.html) if you get the chance to see it. The only thing is you are at the bottom of what essentially is a mountain, so you don't really have a direct way to walk up there, but a taxi or bus will take you up there in about 10mins. Take some time to explore the Grande Allée too - old QC is pretty tiny actually and you won't need more than that first day there to get your fill there. Not sure if the ship will provide a shuttle but like I say it's still very close so maybe do old QC when you're at 22 and Grand Allée/Plains Of Abraham/Citadelle when you're at 103. Either way, enjoy! Edited September 4, 2019 by WorkerBee74
WorkerBee74 Posted September 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2019 Here's a good website I found with more pics of the National Assembly of Quebec. (It's like the equivalent to the North Carolina "Capitol" Building but it's really grand). https://corridorcanada.ca/resource/parlement-du-quebec-et-assemblee-nationale-lieu-de-pouvoir-et-de-memoire/?lang=en

When we visited Quebec City on the Celebrity Summit, we docked at Dock 30, which is on a side channel of the river. Although Old Town is walkable from there, there was a free shuttle if one didn't want to walk.
