Viking airfare

We have always booked our own internationally as well. We either use all miles or we pay for economy then miles to upgrade. This Sunday we will fly in early on AA in economy plus SFO-JFK, then return a couple days after cruise SJU-DFW-SFO.

I did learn a lesson on this one though,  and will do my best not to repeat it. Call the airline after Viking books but prior to ticketing to be sure.

For what it’s worth, we were able to upgrade our AA flights RDU>MIA>SJU and from FCO>PHL>RDU. The domestic portions were  done using upgrade certificates and for the long haul international return we used 25,000 points + $350 each.
