station10fd Posted October 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) On the Star this morning. I was watching the tug help spin us around, then went back inside only to miss this. No one was hurt. The boat is checked out. We’ll see if we leave on schedule. Edited October 3, 2019 by station10fd
vampiress Posted October 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) i couldn't look away, yet the sound of the tug crunching on the dock structure was cringe inducing. i wonder how that happened, because isn't a harbor pilot in charge? i guess someone confused zig with zag someone isn't have a good day. eesh. Rare cr8tiv1 Posted October 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2019 And to think the Star Princess is a little ship (compared to the more recent builds). Interesting video. San Francisco is a tough pier to leave from. I remember 3 tugs straining against the Golden to keep here close to the dock as she released lines. I wonder (too) how badly damaged the other pier was. Thank you for sharing.
Rare Colorado Coasty Posted October 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2019 Looks like a normal day in the office. The tug was doing its job as a "fender".
