coloradocari Posted October 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2019 Which one would be better for a family with kids, 8,11,16,18 and three adults? Ruby goes to Glacier Bay from Seattle; Serenade goes to Tracy Arm from Vancouver. Otherwise they are similar itineraries. Thank you!
CruiserBruce Posted October 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2019 Glacier Bay is a important site...compared to Tracy Arm, which isn't bad, but not as good as Glacier Bay.
Robinsoncruiseso Posted October 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2019 I would put you on the Serenade. You will miss Glacier Bay, but you will still see Glaciers and experience Alaska. Here is my reasoning. 1. Getting to Canada Place, embarkation in Vancouver, is easier than Pier 91 in Seattle. There are no hotels near Pier 91. 2. Leaving from Vancouver will take you up the full inside passage between Vancouver Island and the mainland. Better scenery and often better weather and sea condition. With that said...passport, enhanced ID or Nexus is required to leave from Vancouver. Only a birth certificate and ID (for adults) is needed to sail from Seattle.
