Eclipse- Do we need the app?

I've seen people talking about the Celebrity App which I think lists onboard activities?  Not sure what exactly it does.  But I also thought I read that you don't use the App on the Eclipse.  Is this correct?

I expect Celebrity will get the app updated for eclipse sometime around 2025 or 2030 A.D.  just after they make the web site useful..

We're just off the Millenium where they had the app. I found it particularly handy when I wanted to know the menu for lunch or dinner since they didn't post the menus outside the restaurant like they used to. You were supposed to be able to book dinner times - we were select - but I didn't find that always worked.

 

The daily activities were listed on there too, but they didn't always include everything.
