dawnsi475 Posted November 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Looking into booking Celebrity Reflection with my 83 year old mother. No problem walking, but distance is an issue. Room within a regular veranda room for scooter rental?
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 2, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Probably not. First, can it fit through the door into the cabin? Maybe, depends on the scooter. If she needs the bariatric model, probably not. Second, maybe, if the bed configuration is bed by balcony. then there would be space in front of the desk for the scooter, and close to the plug to recharge. However, if the bed is by the bath/closet, there is no space the get the scooter past the foot of the bed to the couch area and plugs. Leaving it in the entrance area blocks access to the bathroom. The accessible's, at least on M class have extra space just inside the door for big enough for a scooter.

The OP is sailing on the Reflection. Possibly the S class ships have the same configuration.
finny2 Posted November 2, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Get an accessible cabin. even if you can get it in a regular cabin, maneuvering it inside is difficult and it will take up almost all of the available floor space.
poperls Posted November 2, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2019 I agree with everyone else. I travel with a collasible scooter and would never book anything but a Accessible stateroom. Reflection has several from Veranda through Sky Suite. On Reflection you would also get automatic door that enables person on scooter to enter and exit on their own without someone to hold door. davekathy Posted November 2, 2019 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Also the scooter is not allowed to be left in the hallway. 2
hmer23 Posted November 2, 2019 #9 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Never had a problem in standard cabin with ours. Just break it down into the smaller pieces (as if travelling in a car) Battery under dresser being charged, Seat under bed or in wardrobe and chassis fits between the sofa and the window on a standard balcony cabin. Getting through door is a bit tight on standard cabin but manageable. We dont really need accessible bathroom and whilst the extra room space would be a bonus I feel guilty taking this from someone who really needs it and therefore has less choice than us.
