RoLoHa Posted November 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) Anyone experienced using a Rio Firefly power device on a cruise? I’m concerned about width for passageways, length for elevators. GUT2407 Posted November 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2019 The ones I have seen have no bigger footprint than some scooters so I can’t see an issue.
RoLoHa Posted November 21, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted November 21, 2019 True, I have seen some massive scooters...
Splinter Posted November 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2019 The Firefly is narrower than the wheelchair itself, and, as above, is shorter in wheelbase and length on the chair than many scooters. I know a lot of people who have them, although none that have taken one on a cruise.
Phoenix_13 Posted December 29, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I used to have the Rio Dragonfly (non-motorized) I didn’t take it on a cruise but you might have difficulties indoors with it. I have a freewheel but I don’t put it on until I am off the ship, due to the length, turning radius and how busy the elevators are when we are in port.
