NCL Joy: Concierge Class Boarding

My apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere but I was unable to find anything on it.  A group of us will be sailing on the Joy in a few weeks and I can't tell what the process is for concierge suite boarding.  Is it just a priority line like platinum or is it more akin to boarding when one is sailing in the Haven?

When we were on the Joy, it was just the first called priority boarders (not escorted like the Haven). 

 

And, although there was absolutely no information provided, La Cucina was open for lunch. And the Concierge Suite concierge (not to be confused with the Haven concierge) was there to assist in bookings. By the time we got to La Cucina, we had already taken care of our own show bookings in The Social and restaurant bookings in Tenppanyaki.

It will vary by port.  Most port workers haven't a clue and get very little to zero guidance from NCL about boarding except for Haven guests.  Concierge class is unique to the Joy so the port workers are even more confused.  Generally, in our experience, you will board with or at the same time as Haven guests.

Any updated info on this yet? Seems like every review i read is a bit different. Time has passed and many cruises now, i would think they are getting it down by now,,,

I don’t understand what your point is. 
 

Security, Check-in, terminal operations, boarding is all handled by local agents (who handle multiple ships from multiple cruise lines weekly). These are NOT NCL employees and do NOT work for the Joy. 
 

As pointed out earlier, your experience will vary by port. 
 

The Joy currently does not have a new home port since leaving Alaska. She spent time doing Mexico. Now she is doing Panama Canal cruises.

 

So, for example, the workers in Miami may see the Joy once or twice a month. The port workers, who don’t work for NCL, will handle this ship with its unique Concierge class every 22 days. And work boarding a dozen other ships from different cruise lines in between. 
 

So, it is hard to “get it down by now”. 
 

On a good day, Miami is chaotic with the construction and make shift terminal operations.

I read on CC that the concierge for Platinum/Platinum Plus members is basically unreachable, mostly due to being in the haven.  On the Joy, can Platinum members access the Concierge from Concierge class, instead of Haven Concierge, for restaurant and other bookings, since this concierge is not located in the Haven?  Just wondering.

I have never had a bad experience in Miami, Its Los Angeles I am questioning. But thank you for the answer. Your review on the Joy was the best I have read.
