Flights post cruise

We have never cruised out of NOLA and our best flight option for return home is 11 am.

Having cruised out of FLL 15 times we have never had a flight before noon.

Do you think an 11 am flight is wise?

 

I realize a lot can happen on a ship's return to port for disembarkation.  Customs, illness, and other situations can come into play.

The airport at New Orleans is close by (about 20 minutes) and is fairly small compared to most larger cities. If you did self help disembarkation and were among the first off the boat you should be able to make an 11am flight. 

 

That being said, and as you mention, you do open yourself up to a bunch of other factors when you cut it closer like that.

What do you think about a noon flight?   I’ve never booked one that tight coming off of a cruise that are originally booked 1:35 PM flight got canceled and changed to noon.

I mean you'd have an extra hour than the OP so I think you could make it quite easily as long as you didn't dilly dally getting off the ship in the morning. You would have to be in an Uber pierside by 10am in order to comfortably make a noon flight.
