Are there things to do around Falmouth Port and is it safe?

I just came back from an Oasis cruise which stopped at Falmouth.  Yes the port itself is too safe, but in my opinion, so is the town of Falmouth once you walk into it.  There are walls and security staff around the port facility, and you can easily just walk out.  Once you walk out, there are taxi stands (MUCH cheaper than on the port area), and friendly folks there.  I took a taxi for $60 (for 5 people) to Burwood Beach which is a local beautiful beach 15 minutes away.  It was basically abandoned except for 2 other families that came later on.  This is  a quiet beach, $6 per adult, kids are free.  They do keep it quite clean, and the water/sands were so soft!

So, a couple of years ago, we (a bunch of women) wandered around the area outside the port, and I would say that is not safe 😞. People tried to sell me “party favors” (I was the young one), and I guy tried to sell my group “special services”.  We ended up going back to the port, and taking a cab to the beach
