Input on 4-night summer cruise

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about a 4-night cruise to Cozumel out of Galveston this summer.  My choices are apparently Enchantment of the Seas or Carnival Dream.  I know this is a Royal board but has anyone been on both?  We have never cruised in the summer except to Alaska and all of our other cruises have been 7 nights.

I am leaning towards Royal for the Solarium (it has one right?).  But will it be too hot to use in summer?  What is the usual demographic of a cruise like this?  We have two big land vacations planned for this year so this would be a way to do something cheap and fun between the two of them.  But if it will be too hot or crowded to enjoy then maybe I would rethink it.  We would most likely just enjoy the Solarium and day drink every day and go to Nachi Cocum in Cozumel.  We have only done 1 other Royal cruise on Liberty a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Thanks for any input.

P.S.  I cannot wait for Allure to get here!!

We have done a few summer cruises. My own observation on summer cruises is the Solarium tends to be the older crowd. It's fairly quiet, so even if it is crowded it isn't that noisy. If it gets too hot in there, there is usually seating around the pool area.

The overall demographic in the summer will be more towards families.

Yeah I know summer means families but thought maybe since this one was so short and to one port, it might be different.  The Solarium seals the deal though since we would definitely want a more adult area to hang out in.  Having a free adults-only area is what I love about Royal.
