Andie 49 Posted January 16, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2020 We have just selected a guaranteed inside cabin with Serenade of the Seas to Alaska from Vancouver in June 2020. I have been researching a lot about prices etc and thought we did pretty good with our price. However when I read on here about guaranteed rooms I did not realize we may not know our cabin until the very day. It sound like that is quite rare but wondered if many on here have had some good results with guaranteed rooms and if some on here have had to wait til the day of. We are planning to stay in Vancouver the day before and won't have access to a printer but will have a cell phone that day so will get data in the hotel. Another_Critic Posted January 16, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2020 If you don't get your cabin assignment prior to arrival, the baggage porters will have a list with your cabin number and will provide the appropriate luggage tags. Other than not liking your cabin location, there's really no other "snags". Also, if you have an iPhone, you can add your setsail pass (from Royal app) to your apple wallet and the last 4 numbers of the bar code will be your current assignment. YMMV. My Grandeur cruise in Nov 2019 I think I got the cabin assignment about 10 days prior. IIRC, my Adventure CA/NE Sept 2019 assignment was at 30 days prior. If you just want the app, you can try that now - get it from the play store. The decoding of the barcode on the SetSail pass doesn’t even need a phone - you can even do that in the browser on a PC - that’s only to potentially find your cabin assignment before officially assigned.
