Further research revealed on board credits will appear if you booked with HAL and not with a TA. They are reflected in my Booking Confirmation so I will ensure I take a copy with me to present to Guest Services.

Since I always book with a TA, I don't see the OBC until I see the final accounting at the end of the cruise. But there may be another way to see it that I am not aware of.

I would rather get it settled early in the cruise to avoid a possible hassle at the end of the cruise.

You should at least be able to see it once you are onboard - check your account on the TV (on most HAL ships) or ask for a printout at the front desk (or nearby kiosks).  It usually shows up on the first day.

It should be on the confirmation from the TA.  My TA, the big box variety, shows both HAL OBC and their OBC plus any perks.

Yes my TA's confirmation always has my OBC that they give me. I was just saying I know of no way to actually see it on my HAL account until I am on board.

On my next cruise I will take DaveOKC advice and check it on the TV, assuming the Zuiderdam has one of those TV's with account access.

But I will say, I have never not received my OBC that our TA has promised.

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood.  Yes, I always confirm the OBC onboard - even when I booked directly with HAL.

Zuiderdam has the TV option.

Yes, and it is not just OBC you can't see, you can't see your deposit or related items. Since it is the TA who collects the money from you, you deal with them for most financial matters. But I have never ran into a problem with this. All of this stuff appears on my receipt from my TA.

One exception is if I purchase items on the website after booking. Items such as ship's excursions, specialty dining, beverage packages, etc. can still be purchased directly from HAL. The TA is not involved in these purchases and I can see them on my HAL Itinerary page and even cancel them if I need to. I think my TA can also order these items for me, but I have never asked her to, and she doesn't seem to mind if I purchase them on my own. I have no idea if TAs make a commission on items like these.
