Croatia weather in early October

Recommended Posts

We spent the first week of last October cruising the Croatian islands by gulet.

The gulet's last cruise of the season, and a proportion of the islands' bars & restaurants had just closed up for the season.

But the weather was glorious - blue skies, warm sunshine, warm evenings, no rain.............

............. until a couple of nights before the end, when a spectacular thunderstorm passed through. Torrential rain, amazing lightning.

Next day we skipped the last island & sailed to the mainland (Trogir) during a lull in the wind & seas in order not to get trapped  & miss flights home.

Followed in November by an eastern Med / Holy Land cruise,

Fine weather throughout, bar frequent showers one day in Ashdod.

Another year we cruised the eastern Med out of Istanbul, same time of year. Again glorious weather in Istanbul & during the cruise - until the return to Istanbul, which was very grey and very very cold.

All of which kinda sums up the weather thereabouts.

Probably fine, but a it of a risk.

Are you feeling lucky or unlucky?

Edited to add - sea conditions in the Adriatic are very very very unlikely to be a problem.

Unless your cruise ship is about 40 ft from stem to stern  :classic_wink:
