trrn2016 Posted February 1, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2020 It looks like there is a lot of things to do within walking distance of the port in Liverpool. Is the HOHO bus near there and can you purchase tickets the same day?? Any suggestions? Thanks
MAVIP Posted February 1, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Yes it is nearby the cruise terminal. From the gate look ahead and in front of the 3 remarkable buildings is the HoHo busstop. First one leaves at about 10 AM. You can buy tickets a while earlier in a special bus parked at a few meters distance of the stops. Look for the bus (yellow one I believe) with the live commentaries during the tour 🙂
homeofthehound Posted February 1, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2020 If it helps here is a pic of the distance from where our ship docked last year... the bus stop is in front of the 'modern' building (Museum of Liverpool) on the right hand side. We got into port around 9:00am so we decided to walk a little further and pick up the HOHO on the other side of the Albert Dock because they didn't start running until 10:00am. We bought our tickets on the bus and then enjoyed the ride back to Canada Blvd (where the museum is) before carrying on for the rest of the route. By getting on at the first stop of the first bus of the day, we could pick our preferred seat location.
cdnscouse Posted February 1, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2020 I recomend the magical mystery tour if you are a Beatles fan, it's fantastic.Catch on the far side of Albert docks. Cavern club is walking distance. I also did the Stadium tour of my beloved Liverpool football club. We toured two years ago, the first time I was back since I was born there. Amazing

hoopslover Posted February 18, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2020 We booked ahead of time. I think they may have been selling them at the little office where we turned in our vouchers for tickets. Loved the tour!
Ancient Mariner 1954 Posted February 21, 2020 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2020 As a proud Scouser, the hop on/off bus will give a good feel of the city. Some magnificent buildings to visit (2 cathedrals, St George’s Hall), plus the iconic waterfront with the Liverpool and Beatles museums. So much to see so you may not have enough time.....
Ancient Mariner 1954 Posted March 1, 2020 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2020 Forgot to mention . Take a tour round the Royal Liver building, one of the three graces. It’s only just opened, and well worth a visit. It’s a 2 minute walk away....
