Rare cruisingxpert Posted February 3, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2020 Has this ever happened to anyone? I booked myself(Canadian) and my friend (American) on a Nieuw Amsterdam cruise in Europe in CAD. Everything good so far- price is the same. My American friend logs into Flight Ease and books her flight from a US city and gets confirmation in CAD.'Get a new invoice and her base cruise fare is over $400 higher than mine. I call and I am told that she has to pay a higher fare because she is not in Canada like me. My US travel agent had never heard of this nor had a Canadian TA I know. They mentioned something like this, once they found out we were Canadian. Something about HAL sometimes having special pricing for Canadians only. Rare cruisingxpert Posted February 3, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted February 3, 2020 Thank you. I wonder if anything would have happened if she hadn't booked the air.
catl331 Posted February 3, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2020 (edited) Sometimes HAL has regional sales. On one cruise my DBiL/DSiL from Connecticut paid a different price than we did from FL in the same cabin category ... but I can't remember who paid more!
