DatawCruiser Posted February 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2020 Hi all, Looking to book our second Regent cruise on the Mariner. Our first Regent cruise was on the Voyager. While we liked the room in general, we would like a room with a larger shower without a bathtub. The Regent website is frustrating in its lack of detail on this. The pictures and room layout diagrams are lacking in detail. Are there any rooms on the Mariner that have a larger shower instead of a shower and bath? Thanks in advance. Wendy The Wanderer Posted February 4, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2020 The standard rooms have either a shower or a bath, not both. The ones with showers instead of bath have showers that are bigger. That's because they were originally bathtubs and got switched at some point. So think about a bathtub-sized enclosure. Bigger than the Voyager ones, for sure.
JC in CA Posted February 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2020 We made sure we chose a shower on our Mariner cruise. We are both tall and had read about issues with the tub floor being rather high, cutting down over all height of the shower. We were VERY pleased with the shower! Very large for a cruise ship! Go to the deck plans on the Regent website and look for suites with a star- those have shower only. https://www.rssc.com/ships/explorer?ship=MAR&deck=

flossie009 Posted February 4, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2020 @DatawCruiser, Note that the suites in grades D to H are significantly smaller on Mariner compared to Voyager. Penthouses (C to A), on the other hand, are larger. As others have advised, suites with a shower-only are denoted with an asterisk on the deck plans and, IMO, are much preferable to those with the tub-shower combo. Although Voyager and Mariner are very similar ships, we prefer the layout of the Mariner lounges, restaurants and Pool Deck.
