Well that is something I would never do regardless of the price, just not worth it. Fancy being under the buffet for a cruise the noise is constant until early morning then starts up again a few hours later.

You are going on holiday the few pounds you save booking a Guaranteed cabin or selecting one is peanuts compared to a week without much sleep. B

But surely you can find some fault in your cabin and ask them to change it

The folk on my cruise spent many hours trying to get different cabins. One contacted Head Office, even threatened to sue as a single bed and a sofa was not what they had paid for.  They were eventually moved to a different cabin but the others were not.

Costa claimed there were no other cabins available.  Maybe the cabins would have been tolerable on a shorter cruise but they seemed to take their toll on an 18 night cruise. Maybe younger people would have found it less distressing, I don't know.

Costa are very clear on the cabin type you book Single/Double or twin.

The so called sofa is in fact classed as a bed even in the Suites we have used it a few times when we have taken a friend with us, admitted it is really only suited for short cruises but they are sofa beds.

There may indeed been other cabins available the higher the grade the less spare cabins, but many short cruises are fully booked with longer cruises even more so.

The point is you must check when booking, if you then go for a Guaranteed then it could indeed be anywhere & any type of bed.

It is okay to go for these cheap cabins mt advice would always be select your cabin number & deck, look at deck plans they show what cabins are like. Never take the small cabins next to the lifts, you will be awake most of the day & night.
