Aus Traveller Posted February 16, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) We are booked on a cruise with Princess. I received an email, an 'Emergency Notification'. Part of it reads: We're monitoring the situation with the coronavirus that originated in mainland China, and our medical experts are working with global health authorities. As a precaution, anyone who has traveled from or through mainland China, Macau or Hong Kong (including airport transits), or has had contact with a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) within 14 days of the start of this cruise will not be allowed to board the ship. If this applies to you or your client, please contact us with proof of this travel for a full refund of the amount paid to Princess Cruises. All guests will also be subject to pre- boarding health reporting and enhanced screening at check-in. Someone asked recently what happens if you are not permitted to board because you are unwell or if they have travelled through China or Hong Kong within the last 14 days. Princess (at least) is refunding the full fare.🙂 Edited February 16, 2020 by Aus Traveller
The_Big_M Posted February 17, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2020 I think that's the general practice of each of the cruiselines. They're getting enough bad publicity at the moment, that the last thing they want to do is create more and argue about refunds.
