Mercury-anything new?

I heard mercury had added some balconies and other niceties..so has anyone been on mercury recently...do the changes make the ship better??

The Mercury has not added any balconies etc. Are you thinking of the Century?

but it already had a great number of them unlike the Century. They really wouldn't have a need to add them.

Just got off the Mercury in mid-January from a Mexican Riviera cruise. During our cruise there was a delivery at one of the ports of new exercise equipment for the gym. (I believe they were several cardiovascular bikes). Also, the cruise has just recently added some new slot machines in the casino (Diamond Solitaire, Monte Carlo Spin, etc.). The ship was in pretty good shape but there was a bit of wear in the cabin (specifically, the bathroom sink was in pretty bad shape)...

We're on Mercury right now.. in Acapulco.

 

There is some signs of wear but no more than on Summit. Repairs have been done on chairs to keep them from wobbling. Beds need an upgrade but that goes for all X ships (HAL is the standard). No complaints so far. Food and service has been great.

 

Some people like the shows but I personally think the singers need some reinforcement... they're screechers and can't hit the high notes and use volume instead. We had a cirque-like performance that was absolutely outstanding.

 

The ship is clean, the waters smooth and weather great...
