stefyo Posted March 30, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2020 Currently booked under the Early Saver Rate, just recieved a Casino offer - can I submit a price adjustment for the difference? Next question - if I can and I move to the Casino Offer, if there is another sale down the road can I submit again? I believe once on early saver always early saver??? bstel Posted March 30, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) before my 5/2 cruise was cancelled, i was booked early saver and submitted a rate decrease request for a Casino Rate, and was denied twice. i submitted via the online form, but you might need to call to get it. i never did because i was 99% certain my cruise would be cancelled anyway Edited March 30, 2020 by bstel
Gamecock_Cruiser Posted March 30, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2020 When booking under casino offers, the only luck I had to getting price drops BEFORE the final payment date. After the payment date, you are done.
MagnoliaBlossom Posted March 31, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2020 If you book under a casino rate, be aware that should you cancel, even if before any penalty period, your deposit is non-refundable. Period. The end. Now, having said that, we recently had to cancel (outside penalty) and would forfeit our $99/person deposit. Oh well, had to be done. But within the week we received a letter from the casino that they were issuing us a $150 OBC per cabin so we wound up losing $50. I don’t know if that is because of being Platinum or what, but that’s a for what it’s worth comment.Unless CCL undergoes some new policy, they do not allow you to go back and forth between booking categories. Each category is a new booking so be very aware of penalties you could incur in trying to work the system. I’m a pro at such things, and Carnivals system is not made with you in mind.76 past cruisesUpcoming:NCL Getaway 3/29/2020NCL Breakaway 1/10/2021CCL Dream 5/16/2021
mistycruiser Posted April 1, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2020 You are not "switching to" the casino rate you are "price matching" to the casino rate. Yes you should be able to do that whether it's before or after final payment date since you booked early saver. I've done it in the past so it should still work today. I've done the change through my PVP but if you don't have a PVP you should be able to contact the casino or regular 800 # or via the form if you're able to do that.
