Baynanno1 Posted April 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) Although not Azamara ships, I thought there might be some interest in RCCL facilitation of a return home for numerous crew members. More than 1,300 crew members were moved between cruise ships in Sydney Harbour to facilitate returning them to their homes and families. NSW Police have described the movements and restocking as the largest maritime operation the city has seen outside wartime. Five cruise ships were restocked before leaving Australian waters in an operation dubbed 'Operation Nemesis'. NSW Police and the port authority worked to refuel and restock the ships with food and medical supplies. The RCCL ships Spectrum of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas and Celebrity Solstice were all due to have departed by late last evening for their home ports. Grandma Cruising Posted April 5, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2020 Thanks for telling us about this, Trish. It’s great to hear that RCCL, NSW Police and the Sydney Harbour Police worked so hard to make sure crew members were able to get home.
