Is it really worth it to have a balcony???

On my 1/15 Liberty cruise I booked my first balcony cabin. It was a guaranteed cabin and I ended up on aft Empress deck. I always travel solo, but I got a great deal....just a bit more than an oceanview. The balcony was private, unlike Princess, but I heard everything my neighbors were up to. The balcony wasn't very large either, but since it was just me, it was fine. I was looking forward to brekkie on the balcony every morning, or reading a book, or just taking a snooze out there but the weather was horrible...which is always a possibility, and that pretty much takes away the value of a balcony. I think I'd still get a balcony though...next time maybe I'll actually be able to use it.
