KimCHouston Posted May 3, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2020 One of the many things that I miss about cruising is the great entertainment. My husband and I were onboard the Maasdam when word came that all cruises would end. We were incredibly lucky with the entertainers who were ‘held over’ with us as we made our way from Rarotonga to Hawaii and then San Diego. We laughed that we could have been stuck with a bad ventriloquist and a juggler. Tim Abel was one of the entertainers. He is a fantastic pianist who has appeared on several HAL ships and other cruise lines over the past few years. He was on the Amsterdam earlier this year for part of the World Cruise. Tim performed four times as we sailed on to San Diego, and we enjoyed every performance and every genre of music that he played. When the camera was focused on his hands, I could not stop watching and wondering how anyone could play that many notes that quickly. I found out that Tim has a website, and I wanted to pass that along to those who have seen Tim, those who enjoy HAL entertainers, or those who could just use an ‘I miss cruising’ pick-me-up. His website has links to his Facebook and Instagram pages and to his YouTube channel where you can watch some of the songs performed onboard HAL ships as well as other venues. His CDs sold out on the Maasdam, so if you are interested you can also download his music. Hope you enjoy! https://www.timabelpianoshowman.com/
oakridger Posted May 4, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2020 Thanks for the link. I'll look for him next time I'm onboard! ~Nancy
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2020 Sadly those of us who take only 21 day cruises do not have great entertainment. Our last 3 cruises had little entertainment. Gone were the singers and dancers doing shows. Glad you all had great entertainment.
