Early Debarcation 1 Port before scheduled end of cruise

I was wondering if it is possible to debarc the ship on the second last port. We are scheduled to finish our transatlantic cruise in Savona, Italy, but would rather get off the ship in Marseille, France, the day before. Is this a possibility? What arrangements would have to be made ? Since it would be in a different country, would that pose a problem? Any help would be welcome.

Step one is checking with the cruise line.

 

While your desired stop is a major port, they may not have made any arrangements for disembarking passengers.

Both countries are part of the Schengen area so they woyud not be considered 'different countries'.  If you are on the Costa Luminosa  or Favolosa, from, they are also selling  segments that starts in Marseilles, so getting off there should not be a problem, just clear it with the cruise line.  EM

We have had friends do that on a celebrity Europe cruise, agree check with cruise line , can’t see why not.

you need to request in writing a trip change, explaining what you want to do asking for approval in writing.  If you are working with a TA - TA should handle for you.  We have done this in the past, got off in France vs England on one trip.   When we did so we notified the Customer Service desk on the ship, the night before we left, paid charges and got off the ship the next morning with all our luggage with no problem at all.
