Moviela Posted August 5, 2020 #81 Share Posted August 5, 2020 Shore power is touted as a way to reduce pollution. What it really does is simply move the smoke stack from the ship to the power plant. Because the power plant is an economy scale two magnitudes larger than the generators on a cruise ship, the power is cheaper to buy. that is why they do it. These photos were taken the last day crew were allowed on board. I imagine she's even more stripped down now with furniture, etc. removed.
