Yes. Duty free alcohol is available, but the prices aren't great on a NZ cruise. The usually have some specials as '2 for $X' that aren't too bad, but the range is fairly limited.

Most definitely. Adding to previous posts, Princess often have an extra 10% discount if duty free is purchased in the first day or so of the cruise.
