Cruise Pricing

I have a great independent travel agent who is also my neighbour.

She is always available and has managed to get some things sorted for me this year that I know I couldn't have accomplished myself. Very reassuring to have someone like that to fight on your behalf.

Are you finding good deals on cruises or are you just booking cruises for the next few months that you believe will be cancelled so you can get the additional 25% on an FCC that you plan on using in the future.

No this one is actually is Dec 2021.  The deal isn't bad and it isn't good. Somewhere in the middle I'd say compared to what I have paid in the past.  I could have gotten a cheaper price on a balcony cabin but my brilliant TA managed to get me the #1700 on Liberty.  I love aft cabins and a corner aft is the absolute best.  I had to pay a little premium for that one above a regular spacious balcony but to me it's worth it.  I just double checked the price on Royal's site and it is already $100 more than my invoice price.

While I agree with most of your points,  cruise lines need to meet their debt obligations. If they are not able to do that, you will likely see cruise line(s) go under. If there is not enough demand to meet a cruise line(s) debt obligations, It will be difficult for a cruise line to survive.

That's my worry. Carnival is giving away future profits more than others with $600 obc. I'm used to getting some compensation when a cruiselines changes you say from Allure to Liberty, which typically has cheaper prices than Allure. Rcl is being more tight fisted with future profits. I've also noticed maybe a $20 increase in port fees telling me they expect future port fees to be higher, or based on 70% capacity people are guessing. ... though I'm not sure it's a huge difference to allow 30% fewer onboard, but will hit the bottom line.

Someone mentioned msc and how many promos they were offered to book.

I gotta say I'm surely tempted by the suite prices out next april but I'm about to the pt I want to know what to expect and that rcl is sailing before I give them more money... tempted.
