GrammaSally123 Posted October 2, 2020 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2020 If you sign up for the 5 free "perks" .. one of them is $160 in Specialty Dining. What does this mean ? You can eat a few nights at a specialty restaurant or just one meal? They are not specific in the advertising. It might be worth it. For $200 extra each on Norwegian Escape we can add the 5 perks. We are not big drinkers and would not really consider the package for that reason.. but specialty dining might change my mind. Thanks for any info. GrammaSally123 Posted October 2, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted October 2, 2020 Great thanks. Looks like quite a bit extra per day per person for drink gratuities. This does not sound like a good promotion for us. We did get the $50 per cabin for each excursion though so that is good.
hallux Posted October 2, 2020 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2020 Yes, you definitely want to factor the gratuities into any cost comparison.

You can skip the drinks package and avoid the $19.80 per person per day gratuities. but since the cost of the drink package is already included in the cruise fare, you will still be the loser

NCL cost of drinks are a lot higher than most place on land. You're looking at $8 for beer, $10+ for wine, and liquor $10+. Don't forget there's an automatic 20% gratuity on the prices I mentioned. The gratuities for the package promo works out that on a 7 day cruise if you'd drink at least 13 drinks (14 if beer only) the package is a better deal for you. It's even less drinks if you prefer the fancier drinks or better quality liquor that are near/at the $15 limit.
