Very interested in any thoughts, concerns or opinions as to whether cruises will be able to embark and disembark in Hong Kong in light of the political unrest and state department warnings against travel there for US citizens.

I don’t think that there is a Regent cruise scheduled to call in to Hong Kong until November.

With everything else affecting cruises at present I would think it will be some months before any decisions to abandon Hong Kong as a destination due to security concerns would be considered.

IMO it would be a great shame if the political situation in Hong Kong deteriorates to such a degree that international tourism is curtailed.
It is such a vibrant place & we were very disappointed when our March cruise commencing in Hong Kong was cancelled due to the dreaded virus.

It is also very sad to see the state of emergency in another Asian country, Burma (Myanmar); another magical destination that will now be off the tourist map for some time.
