tarrenel Posted February 16, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2021 We are looking to get a balcony cabin on the Celebrity Solstice, is one side better then the other side for the view? Any suggestions on what floor I should be looking at as well? Thank you for your input.
CruiserBruce Posted February 16, 2021 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2021 In every case of viewing a glacier, the Captain will get as close as safely possible to the glacier, and spin the ship around, giving views from both sides, so no need to be on any particular side. Also, usually a glacier is located at the dead end of a fjord, so the ship goes in, and comes out the same way it went in. So what you miss going in, you will see coming back out. Also, you will probably be on an outside deck, looking the big picture scenery, because glaciers are huge!! For our most recent visit to Hubbard Glacier...we were on our balcony when the glacier was on the starboard side, and on the open deck when the glacier was on the port side, which happened to be the most active time. We had great views. The entire time at the glacier was close to 2 hours.
Ashland Posted February 21, 2021 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2021 If you have a chance choose a true aft...Our best views have been from there...in PJ's wrapped up in a blanket and sipping hot chocolate...felt no need to fight the rail hoards. Enjoy !!
