Rare Host Kat Posted April 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2021 https://www.galvnews.com/news/free/article_26edec58-5ac5-56ca-9436-97e19e9b1bdd.html After discussion, the contract amendment was approved during the Tuesday, April 27, 2021 Galveston Wharves Board of Trustees meeting. This extended the terminal’s completion deadline from July 31, 2023 to September 30, 2023. However, Royal Caribbean Cruises (aka Galveston Cruise Terminal, LLC) will continue to aim to have the project completed by September 2022. That goal is subject to their project getting “satisfactory project financing” which worries me regarding their recovery from COVID-19. I so hope all will be well for them soon! 📈 Copy of the contract amendment: CONSULTANT AGREEMENT (portofgalveston.com) Host Kat
longhorn2004 Posted May 8, 2021 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2021 Oh, oh, no new terminal means no Oasis class ship. Hope RC is not trying to renege on its plans to bring an Oasis class to Galveston. After over a year of no operations, its understandable that RC may be having second thoughts.

Galveston Island Terminal #3 and Freeport Bahamas projects are the top two priorities for RCL . Home Ports for Oasis Ships are a top priority . The Galveston market place fits the bill with the new terminal . RCL is committed to construction of Terminal#3 and the Galveston Marketplace . It’s not if , but when the time to start the terminal project with best financial considerations considering all CDC circumstances today .
