Something I hope to experience next spring on a Fred Olsen cruise! They are one of a few lines that still dock in Amsterdam.

We have been to Rotterdam on Fred and we had a shuttle bus from the port which dropped us near the cube houses and market Square - is that near the train station? 

 

Only one day there and then went on to Amsterdam, so we were happy to stay in the city.  Not much there though, so would look to travel else where if we had two days.  We have been to Amsterdam a number of times and have really enjoyed late nights or overnights as the city has quite a buzz after dark.
