American Star - New England Islands - Quick Scorecard

Recommended Posts

Just got back from our cruise.  Had many reservations before embarking, based on what I've been reading here.  I would rate our trip EXCELLENT.  Much relieved!

A+ for arrangements at the pre-cruise hotel (Omni at Providence RI), covid testing, town tour, transfer to ship.

A+ for quality of the meals

A+ for speed of preparing meal orders

A+ for efficiency of meal stewards taking orders, serving, etc., even given staggered arrivals at each table

A for quality of the excursions

A for quality of the housekeeping staff in rooms, common areas except top sun deck

C for keeping the top deck clean

B+ for quality of the Wi-Fi from either of the two small lounges mid-ship (but in port only)

D- for quality of the Wi-Fi from our room, the main lounge, or anyplace else

A+ for quality of the lectures

B- for quality of the entertainment (this is highly subjective - some things we disliked others loved)

A+ for cruise director keeping everything going smoothly and keeping us informed

A+ for efficiency of the disembarkation process and transfer to the airport/hotel

A note: The cruise director told us that 85% of the personnel are new this year. Perhaps our cruise had so few problems because there were only 85 passengers (out of 100).
