How's the $25 taxi tour from the pier?

Back in 2019, There's a sign at the end of the pier saying $25/person taxi tour and a bunch of taxi's lined up.

 

Anyone take this before? How was it?

Advice?

(i'm going solo in Sept 2021)

no more taxi tour sign. in fact, no taxis whatsoever at the pier. 😮
(but i left the ship about an hr after docking)

 

before covid, there were plenty of taxis lined up (and i usually leave the ship at least an hr after docking to avoid the mad rush of people going ashore.)

so i just walked around the pier in about a 3block radius and back on the ship 😞

I was there in Dec 2021, and had no problem getting a taxi over to Christensted to pick up a snorkle trip charter. 

 

I did not see any specific "tour" signage, but I wasn't looking.  There was a line of van/cabs out in the street along the waterfront, and I would imagine one could talk to a driver and negotiate a tour of some sort.

Hmmm, that's too bad. Hoping and things ramp up to full swing that will change.

Was there any problem finding a taxi to get back to Frederiksted? I have heard stories of problems locating in Christiansted to drive back to the ship, but not sure if that was more during COVID. Appreciate any input. Thanks.
