Zenith Suite?

We're booked in a Zenith Suite (1017) for a two week trip in November. Has anyone stayed in a ZS? Could you tell me about it? Thanks for any information. I've never been in a cabin without a balconey -- will I survive? I going on the assumption that I'm at sea so it will be a great day.;)

Basketlady, we are in 1019 for the November 27th cruise. Is that the one you are on? If so, we'll be next door! I hope you get some replies about the cabin...

DH & I were in 1016 3 weeks ago. While our cabin had not been refurbished, many of the others on this deck had been. Yes, we had a few stains on the carpet, but that really didn't bother us. The cabin was bright & the view from the large window was wonderful. There was more than enough storage room for the 2 of us, and plenty of hangers. The small sofa was very comfortable as was the chair that was placed under the window. We had one of the most comfortable beds that we have ever had on a cruise. Our butler, John, was the perfect gentleman; and our cabin attendant, Weiner was fabulous. We did miss having a balcony, but the aft doors on this deck open onto a quiet area with lots of loungers. There were usually a few people out there in the sun, but there were always plenty of chairs. One deck up from this is the buffett, so it was a convenient way to get to the waffles without having to deal with the crowds by the elevators.

I think you will enjoy the Zenith suites. Have a wonderful cruise, and if there are any specific questions I can answer, just let me know.

We were in a Horizon Suite which is the same thing. We really liked the extra space in the cabin, the well appointed bathroom, and our butler was great. Also the large window is terrific but we did miss having a balcony....

I am sending my parents (in their 70s) on a 10 night panama cruise in the Zenith Suite....some questions about the suite experience....

 

1. At the pier, do ZS passengers have a separate check-in line ?

2. Do ZS passengers have a separate waiting area

3. Do ZS passengers get onboard first

4. Do ZS passengers get invitations to special tours...like galley, behind the scenes stuff ?

5. Having never had a butler, is it okay to ask for something like a pitcher of tea and a bucket of ice (my dad loves tea, never soft drinks), copies of the dinner menu during the day, etc.

Here are my observations on the suite:

Yes, there is a separate check in line for suites, but once you have your passes, you board the ship with everyone else. You are escorted to your cabin if you board after the "official" boarding time. If you board early, you are usually encouraged to go to the buffet area until cabins are ready.

Tours are usually given based on captains club level, we certainly didn't see any invitations based on being in the ZS. Perhaps the higher level suites have this perk, having never had one, I don't know. ZS does get priority tendering ( which is not always a real priority, but that's another thread) and I believe the invite to the elegant tea.

The butler is there to help the passengers. It is perfectly appropriate to ask for tea, or ice, or whatever. If the butler is not the one to get it for you, he should facilitate the arrangements so that whatever it is you want, you get. IMHO, if you request special services from your butler, then you should be prepared to compensate for them at the end of the week, but that too is another thread.
