EatonDoolittle Posted August 15, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2021 Highly doubtful. If you have access to a map (or the Internet) you can see that the earthquake was on a large peninsula on the south side of the island. Labadee is on a small peninsula on the north side of the island. Hundreds of miles apart.

I was aboard the Noordam several years ago when we were not too far offshore in that area when a terrible earthquake happened. It's painful for me to learn that these people are experiencing another disaster of this magnitude. I am a supporter of a couple of charities that have provided support for the Haitian people for many years. I ask for you to consider such support. (The Governor of my State of Ohio has been a significant donor of funds for Haiti for many, many years in memory of one of his children.) Should Labadee be unaffected? Yes, it probably is. But, so what? Is that what we ought to be concerned about regarding this very poor country?
