Can anyone book the Sensation out of Mobile for any cruise in November 2021?

I’m booked on the Carnival Sensation out of Mobile on November 8 (5 day; Western Caribbean). Considering canceling due to the COVID situation.

That said, I am wondering if that cruise is actually going to happen at the moment, since I can’t find ANY November 2021 Carnival cruise to book out of Mobile, AL.

Is it possible the cruises are full? It was pretty empty when I booked it, but with the great rates that were offered its possible. Last I looked, the Sensation was scheduled to start up in late October.

Curious if anyone else “sees” the Sensation right now for booking in November.

Yep; that is what I am seeing too Scotts; thanks for looking.

Cancellations coming OR booked solid OR Carnival limiting capacity? I wish I knew; if they are limiting capacity I’d be more likely to NOT cancel the cruise (I’m still on the fence).

Could be more cancellations coming, you may want to extend final payment, if possible. May get OBC if they have to cancel.

My final payment is due on the 25th; which is one of the reasons, besides my group discussing possible cancellation as the final payment date approaches, that made me look around today for information.

I got the cruise through a great casino deal; I hate to lose the price/OBC/drinks if I cancel, but my group is worried about COVID, vaccines waning, testing, COVID in Alabama...the usual mix of cruising worries these days.

Well the new CDC guidance may throw me over the ledge regarding cancelling this cruise anyway:

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/covid-3/coronavirus-cruise-ship

I mean, I know I’m older (over 55) and have asthma...but I wonder if “official” guidance might cause trouble with travel insurance if I have a problem.

ACK I wish I could have cruised in July before Delta and vaccinated “breakthroughs”.  Tik tok; final payment in 5 days must make a decision on this Carnival Sensation cruise.

From a fellow Tennesseean TravelBluebird, I have noticed that the Sensation only shows on Carnival site to return in December, I am booked on Sensation for January 8, 2022 and am starting to worry that it will also be cancelled with all that is going on now.  Like you I got lots of OBC when I rebooked from January 2020 from Mobile and if they cancel will like those perks like you.  I neveer though we would still be in this uncertain state at this time.  Hope you all get to make your trip and go VOLS/Titans.

I have b2b cruises booked for 11/4 and 11/8. I do not think the ship will start cruising out of Mobile in late October. I am paid in full. If they cancel, it will be ok. I am hesitant to get off the ship in Mexico. I have been there many times and really nothing new to see. I just wanted to get away at a really good price.

We're booked on Sensation November 22nd, I just looked at the Carnival site under "CHECK THE STATUS OF MY SAILING" and get "The information you submitted indicates that your cruise has not been cancelled".  I guess we'll see.

I do have to wonder about the fact that no sailings for Sensation show up until December.  My final payment is in a couple of weeks, I'll be highly upset if Carnival takes my money knowing full well the cruise isn't going to happen.

So...after much deliberation with my group, we have cancelled our Nov 8 sailing on the Sensation.

With our understanding from what has happened to friends and news reports, the Sensation sailing will be 7 months after our vaccinations, so with greatly waning effectiveness, and we should be eligible for the boosters in December.  I have two doctor friends who caught COVID 6 months after their shots, and have been reading the Israel reports.

We booked this cruise when vaccinations were brand new and  just after CDC lifted mask mandates and social distancing for vaccinated people, and we thought it was all going to be hunky-dory, and the pandemic was over. Sigh.

I’m still looking forward to my February and April Carnival cruises, and may book an early September cruise thinking the timing, for me, should be better (without my group; they’ve thrown in the towel till next year).

And GO VOLS!

It looks like maybe sold out until December sailings?? Same with Liberty November sailings. On the PVP page it still shows last Sensation Itinerary update as of 7/20 and lists I believe October 21, 21 as the first sailing.  Kind of confusing how they list all the dates and sailings together.

Someone asked about the 11/18 sailing of the Sensation on John Heald's FB page this morning.  Here is his response:

"I totally understand I’m nervous these times are for everybody and I promise you that no final decision has been made yet. We are continuing to work with the state of Alabama on this and I promise I will let you know any news as soon as I can. We can’t wait to see you having fun and thank you again for your patience"

They'll be cancelled.

Can anyone give any context to what is going on between Carnival and Alabama?

We're booked on Sensation in November and are really wondering what's going on, seeing as how there are no longer cruises out of Mobile showing up on the schedule until December.  It would be really really nice if they'd let us know what's going on so that we could make alternate plans if need be.

I agree.  Only reason we booked this was the price and the AA flight credit we had to use by November 9th.  We will just stay in Mobile and possibly drive to Orange beach or Florida for a few days.  The entire November 8th cruise cost us $515.

I guess we should know soon but luckily its in a warm area with beaches within driving distance so if cancelled, many plan Bs!

Mobile county is a hot spot for Covid in Alabama. ICUs are over capacity, but you can attend a high school football game without any real issues. You would think they could work out any issues for a cruise that is basically fully vaccinated with the State.
