Use it as a tool, but don’t get upset when the listed fares don’t actually exist, or when the airlines won’t book a 30 minute connection on an international itinerary.

The other issue with ITA Matrix is that the cheapest routing involves multiple airlines who do not share revenue. Thus, it may mean buying multiple tickets (and retrieving luggage at connecting airports).

Nonetheless, I agree that it is a great tool in the initial research for airfares to pursue.
