nwcruiselover Posted October 4, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2021 That is one of the tests that Carnival allows.
groundloop Posted October 4, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2021 Here's a link to Carnival's testing information. https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/return-to-service-faqs It doesn't specifically call out the ID Now test that Walgreens offers, so I"d be hesitant to say for sure that that one is ok. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. I wonder if you can find a location that does the Rapid Antigen Test, that one is for sure accepted. ALSO, there's the option of monitored home testing, many people have said they've had good luck with the eMed testing service.

It is an NAAT test (on Carnival's list of accepted tests) and the test results show it as such.

Rare Tapi Posted October 4, 2021 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) We used IDNOW tests to sail on MSC a few weeks ago. No problems whatsoever and they were accepted without a question. As mentioned above, the IDNOW test is an NAAT test, and if Carnival’s protocols specify that NAAT tests are accepted, the IDNOW test will qualify. The results sheet from Walgreens will list the test as a rapid NAAT test. We’ve done this test from Walgreens before for other trips we’ve taken in addition to our recent cruise, and it’s by far the best. You pull up to the pharmacy drive thru window, self test, and you get your results emailed to you in an hour. Their website says that it takes up to 24 hours, but every time we’ve taken it, the results are ready in one hour. The best part is that it’s free of charge and they don’t ask for health insurance information. Edited October 4, 2021 by Tapi
