Upgrade offer on Rotterdam good deal?

Got an email from HAL today offering us an upgrade from a family ocean view to a spa verandah for $310 each on the Nov. 10th cruise. Going with my best friend and we liked the idea of the family stateroom because it had two bathrooms! But I do love a balcony too. Has anyone stayed in the spa verandah on the Nieuw Statendam or Koningsdam? The cabin is definitely smaller and from the photos the balcony also looks small. We are in a guarantee family Oceanview now. Opinions? We've already had 3 cruises canceled and originally only paid about 900 each for the cruise on a casino promotion! So this upgrade is about 30% of what we paid. Lol.

Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it. I’ve stayed in a Spa Neptune suite on the Koningsdam and the balcony was tiny tiny tiny. Never again. Two bathrooms!  Definitely worth their weight in gold.

We would not do that....alot more you can do with $620.

We booked  a spa veranda on another Rotterdam cruise because it is convenient to the Retreat and New York deli.  Those are areas which we will use frequently.  For us it is a good location but that may not be everyone's preferance.

We love that location also.....got an upgrade to the spa deck on our last cruise 2 years ago and loved the tucked away location......but would not consider for $620 more.

 

The good thing about upsells is it is your choice!

Thanks for the advice.  I talked to a person at HAL and he said the cabin we are in now is much bigger! So I think we will save our $600 for something else 😊
