Egyptian pounds/Jordanian Dinar or US dollars for tips

I plan on adding the tip for the cruise guides/egyptologists to my cruise bill.  What currency should I tip the guides for the Jordan pre tour and the guides in Cairo?

Local currency.

If you were a tour guide in the US, would you want to be tipped in Egyptian pounds by your Egyptian tourists??

That's what  I thought but I also thought that people had said US dollars.  Just wanted to be sure.

I have been to Jordan and Egypt. Tipping local currency is the way to go.

We used the ATM in our hotel to get the local currency for our guides and drivers.
