negn Posted October 30, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2021 Looking at NCL board, seems they do not have the 2day requirement for COVID test. Looks like it went from 72 to96 hours. I thought the 2 day was mandated by CDC. Would sure be easier if they gave you a few extra days
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted October 30, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2021 Totally depends on the sailing port & local requirements. Are you talking a US cruise or somewhere else?
GonzoWCS Posted October 30, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2021 Yes it might, but comply or stay home. We are heading out! Cheers
schuylkillp Posted October 31, 2021 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2021 NCL tests at the port. At least they did in August 2021
exgman Posted October 31, 2021 #5 Share Posted October 31, 2021 NCL is testing at the port, which they are paying for. The 96 hour test is for the passengers benefit; so they don’t show up at the pier for their boarding test positive.
jkrislc Posted October 31, 2021 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2021 As others have said, NCL tests passengers prior to boarding at the port, which I much prefer as it relieves some of the burden for the passenger. NCL recommends testing using a PCR test up to 96 hours before. It's not required, but if you want to take advantage of their COVID benefits, you have to show that you tested negative prior to arriving at the port. If you test negative at the port, which starts with an antigen test, they follow up with a rapid PCR test to confirm the test results.
