Beverage Package Purchase

Does anyone know why I would receive the notice "Due to beverage restrictions you can not shop at this time"?

I have been trying to purchase the beverage package for our upcoming Nov 19th trip and it has been like this for a couple of weeks now.  Before that I was able to purchase it but hadn't completely made up my mind till now.

No not an upgrade. I had the OBC.  I will call my TA Monday if it doesn't clear up.  Just wondering if there is some rule about purchases I am unable to find.

The IT dept seems to do work on the site on the weekends   so maybe  that is the problem  but having our TA book it for you would be easier  for sure

It may have changed but it used to be that you had to select the Beverage Package on your initial booking if you're doing it online. I know they improved some of the pre cruise booking options so I might have missed that one being upgraded to be purchased any time. It would certainly make more sense to be able to.

Maybe they are anticipating another increase in prices??

Went to Horizon last night and ordered my double Oban 14. They had run out. After some questioning, one of the fantastic bartenders phoned down to Casino bar and found a part bottle.

Hope this isn’t a trend with the expensive pours on the drink package.

When I try to purchase a drinks package, by logging in to my booking online, I get the error message OP did: "Due to beverage restrictions you can not shop at this time" and the system flicks me back to the overview screen. My cruise is in two weeks so it's not too early to book it presumably. No worries if no one's familiar with this issue I just wondered if there might be someone here who had encountered it and perhaps either solved it or knew what the problem was. Thanks

Did you take the  House select package as your  O Life perk??

I would just call O or your TA Monday

I believe we are on the same cruise. I had the option of purchasing either drinks package on our account. I did opt out of that and took the Olife house package rather than OBC on the advice of our Oceania Sydney rep. We will upgrade on board. It was a significant saving by doing that in Australia.

Oh, thanks. I think our fare doesn't include an OLIFE option but maybe I should reach out to see if it can. Thanks for the tip

IMO if you intended to get the Prestige package, that is good advice. Taking OBC as OLife is a wash - no  financial advantage.

Glad you agree,

I have been torturing myself with that option and hoping the upgrade on board will go ahead without issues. I realise it has gone up but it’s still a better option especially on a 33 day cruise.

Our 39 day cruise was broken up into 4 segments and each upgrade to Prestige lasted for only that segment so if you found it was something you didn’t want, you could drop it and you would be left with the OLife House select. Does not have to be committed when you first board.

A segment is like a cruise that people could book. Ours was 12, 10, 10, 7

Two more days on Riviera if anyone wants additional pictures, information.

BTW spoke to the culinary director and the practise of each participant having a work station is going to continue. Disappointing to us as we enjoyed working together at one station.

If you have 2-3 drinks  (other than wine/beer with meals)  you will be ahead of the game

I agree  I would cook with DH  so having 1 person per station  is cutting their  revenue as well

Enjoy the end of the cruise

Home in time for the snow LOL

First time with Oceania next month.  If you buy the Prestige package do you have a selection of better wines included than with the Select package?  My comparison is with Viking, where the Silver Spirits beverage package includes upgraded wine selections, including bottles up to $75.

Many thanks,

If you are planning on La Reserve dinners as well, ordering one of the packages first will trigger your 20% saving. The sequence of these events is important.
