Unfortunately, our WE ARE GOING cruise in July doesn't stop there. I keep hearing rumors that Carnival "bought" Skagway -- can that be true? Just the railroad is what I heard. heidiatmn1 Posted March 5, 2022 #27 Share Posted March 5, 2022 Check out the Pullen Creek Stream Walk-depending on the time of year you can see the salmon swimming. Its not far from the ship-we happened to come across it on the walk back.

I think it would be really neat to see.

Our ship is in port until 5pm. What is there to do around town? We'd love to get something to eat, we like trying new beers and foods and shopping at cool local places. Is there anything in Skagway that we shouldn't miss before we get back on the ship? Thanks! Have a relaxing lunch in the Red Onion. It's a Skagway original. Was a bar and brothel in the gold rush times.

NikiPinkston Posted April 3, 2022 #32 Share Posted April 3, 2022 We enjoyed the trolley tour when we were there last August as we enjoy learning about the history of the places we visit & had done the train before. You get a great overview of the town, including the old graveyard where you learn the story of Frank Reid & Snuffy Smith, some early residents. It's not a long tour, so you'll have time to eat in town afterward. And the fry bread at Klondike Doughboy is indeed delicious and HUGE.
brewcrew Posted April 6, 2022 #33 Share Posted April 6, 2022 We also used Chilkoot Charters bus up, train down. It was awesome!
