stromer Posted November 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2021 Most flights to and from the US to Papeete arrive early in the morning or leave late at night. To do this comfortably a day room is required. Has anyone got a day room for less than the cost of a overnight room or do you have to pay the overnight rate? Thanks, Rick
crilski Posted November 23, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2021 We stayed at Manava Resort in Papeete. We stayed for 2 nights - and they upgraded us to the largest room, top floor, facing the lagoon. Normal check out time was 11am. We paid $75 to stay in our room until 6p. But we were picked up at 5pm to head to the airport. Glad we did. We were able to get our Covid test with no wait.

Petoonya Posted November 25, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2021 @stromer I wrote this just the other day to Rangi13. Don't know if it's helpful to you or not. The other possibility if you want to relax or do the island on your own, is a B&B in a suburb of Papeete that's wonderful. We pay for one night and just use as a day room. It's only $69 and includes a lovely pool area with gorgeous views of Moorea. The owners will let you sit by the pool to wait for your bungalow to be vacated (about 1pm) and then you have the day to relax or...... drive yourself around the island in the car they usually have available to rent. They'll also pick you up at the port and bring you to the airport for a nominal fee. They are a lovely couple who will let you be, but are available to help with anything you might need. We've stayed there several times now. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21355854?federated_search_id=464d5acf-18c6-4312-9649-3d9bfe11640b&source_impression_id=p3_1637478114_7qImnr4RHnjJrQZW&guests=1&adults=1 We always use this as our dayroom.
