John Reid Posted November 26, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2021 Just went to book a beach bed for my April 24 Anthem cruise. What an unpleasant surprise; a tax of about 13% (over $23) was added to the $199 price. Checked other items (cabanas, Beach Club), and they had tax added, also. Caveat Emptor. Just back from Anthem on 11/21. Had a beach bed for our Coco Cay stop. Used my OBC to cover the cost (I had $311). No deduction of taxes.

I didn't say it was universally applied, since virtually nothing can be said about anything with RCI as being absolute, well maybe that all of their ships sail on water. I think the ones that sail through the air are named "...of the Skies." 😁

tinkertwo Posted November 27, 2021 #7 Share Posted November 27, 2021 Just booked a cabana as well and was charged tax. This was Oasis Lagoon cabana. Was thinking about booking an over the water cabana but since there is just two of us it seemed like a stretch and then add the tax, no thanks. Depends on if you made the reservation before or after the Bahamian government started instituting the 12% VAT
