sansterre Posted December 18, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2021 With Omicron Covid forcing the cancelation of the South Africa cruises Jan.- March, 2022, how does that affect Azamara? Does Azamara have the deep pockets to withstand this and everything else that has negatively affected the cruise industry?
manc Posted December 19, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2021 We have cancelled b2b2b in April because of the uncertainty and the differeing rules between countries. France has closed their borders to British citizens but for how long. We havec2 more cruises booked.....one from South Africa and hopefully but not confident they will.sail. KirkNC Posted December 19, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2021 I think this question applies to the whole industry. Hopefully the recent purchasers of AZ can weather the storm. My guess would be that they maybe in better shape then the big 3.
GlobalMethod Posted December 19, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2021 We just returned from one of the best Azamara cruises in our history with them. That said, we now has shortened our cruise planning process to 90 days or less from our 'old cruising' methodology of 6 to 12 months prior. This last Azamara cruise we booked (a back to back) was done 5 weeks prior to sailing. Azamara has a strong financial partner so the only issues I see impacting them are worldwide events like you are describing. These create great buying opportunities but may require a shorter decision cycle on your part.
