Caribbean Princess 12/12-12/19 cruise

Well not much to say. The cruise was about 99.9% perfect. All crew members were wonderful. However, one person in particular, Raul Gonsalves incharge of the Piazza went way out of his way to get my wife a drink she wanted and the bar tender said they do not have it, never did. Well somehow he was able to get it for her. It did take him awhile, but he never gave up on it. The ship was constantly kept clean and sanitized.  You basically could do nothing by yourself. The crew had to do it for you. The ship was at 40% capacity about 1200 guests. Needless to say never packed anywhere. On and Off a breeze. Food was as usual, very good. My wife liked most everything. Pastries on the other hand were always EXCELLENT. Service was excellent. I just wish the mask thing was over. I had one problem and for me it was major. I love Ice Cream and on Carnival I do over indulge. Whatever they call Ice Cream on this ship was not even close. It will latterly get you sick to your stomach. I am not exaggerating. It is nothing more than sugar goo and tastes really bad. If you like eating cold gooey sugar it is for you. So soft it is melting before you even try it. I took one bite and tossed it. I love ice cream with some deserts. Not this time. Why can't Princess just use the same one Carnival uses. When you walked by the ice cream stand. No line ever. Wonder why? Guess that being my only problem, not bad. Loved the cruise. The cruise director is crazy nuts. Lots of fun every day. Winning the Snowball jackpot on the last day bingo certainly made up for the ice Cream. However we had to split it. Cried all the way to the Casino😂

Did you try the ice cream in the main dining room?  Made daily, different flavors.

Did not. At the ice cream coffee stand they had 3 flavors. All terrible and they are made daily also.

I will have to try it next year when we are on it again. Did you try that ice cream?

Yes, I am an ice cream lover too.  But weigh calories to unnecessary intake (think no strawberry, green tea, etc).  Also the buffet occasionally has ice cream scoops (Grand Princess).  Rich and creamy.

 

Favorite is Espresso Ice Cream/MacNut, Chocolate).  The MDR also has a do it your own sundae for dessert.  Add bananas, sprinkles, nuts, and chocolate syrup (I wish there was hot fudge).  It used to be listed on the kids' menu as a Volcano.
